CANNICH
GLEN AFFRIC
The warden at Cannich had a Bultaco trials bike and I was travelling on my budget CZ trail bike. He said he went to Glen Affric on his bike, so I went on mine:
The hostel was pretty remote: Cannich was the nearest hostel, 20 miles away on a mix of forestry roads and tracks, much of which was in bad condition. Cannich itself was at the end of a road, over 12 miles off the A82.
There were a couple of hostellers there, who I think knew the warden (on the left).
I tried to continue on my bike to Ratagan over the hills, but the weather wasn't great - the land was really water-logged. I got stuck in a bog near the hostel and ended up getting hauled out by the warden and his pals. So I stayed at the hostel while they rode the bike in the river to clean it up, and then I headed back to Cannich.
